Looking at the immediate issues, we decided on buying food. The target for the fund raising was £15,000. We approached AMIC, who upon seeing our letter from NMFUK agreed to assist us by putting up a link for donation on their website. As well as doing a mosque collection and among ourselves, we taxed each person £40. We liaised with the NMFUK National Body, that whatever we generated was to be used to buy the bags of rice to be distributed in Maiduguri.”
